Annual Scientific Conference

It is with great pleasure to invite you to the 7 th Annual Scientic
Conference of The Ophthalmological Society of Kenya that is
scheduled for 28 th and 29 th November 2024 at
The Boma Inn Hotel in Eldoret City.
I thank all the participants and support of all sponsors of the
10 th Annual COECSA Congress which also doubled up as the 6 th
Annual Scientic Congress of The Ophthalmological Society of Kenya in
Mombasa. Last year’s conference theme was Ophthalmology:
Learning, Innovating, Leading was asuccess. We had over 500 Delegates
drawn from 24 countries across Africa, Asia and Europe. This year the
conference will be at Eldoret City, the fth largest city in Kenya.
Eldoret is located West of Kenya in the Rift Valley region, and serves
as the Capital of Uasin Gishu County. It boasts of Legendary
Athletes most notably Kipchoge Keino. Eldoret is easily accessible through
Eldoret International Airport that has regular ights from Nairobi, Kisumu
and Mombasa, and road transport. Eldoret also referred to as “The City of Champions” thus serves as a perfect
destination for the 7th OSK conference in an endeavor to ensure that OSK explores dierent regions in
Kenya which it draws its members from. This year’s Conference Theme is Eye Health in Harsh Economic
Times A question that invites us to look at the country’s eye services during these challenging economic
times. It calls for a deeper look into the eyecare funding model with the proposed Social Health Insurance
Fund (SHIF). Theme through a two-day conference with a preconference meet and greet cocktail session.
Ophthalmologists from Kenya will share their research projects, knowledge and skills through talks,
poster presentation, photo and video competition and wet lab session. We wish to invite ophthalmologists
